Gulmohar Tree Introduction

Gulmohar is a tree with red flowers. Gulmohar tree's birthplace is considered to be Madagascar. It is said that in the 16th century, Portuguese saw Gulmohar tree it in Madagascar. In the 18th century, the governor of French Kitis, County de Poneshi, changed its name to a similar name to Posinshiyana. Gulmohar tree is also known as the Flame tree in addition to the Royal Posiana. The French have probably given Gulmohar the most attractive name, in their language it is called the 'flower of heaven'. In fact, gulmohar's true name is 'Flower of Heaven'. In the summer, the leaves on the Gulmohar tree are nominal, but the flowers are so high that it is difficult to count them. It is found everywhere in hot and humid places of Indian subcontinent. Gulmohar flowers are good sources of nectar for honey bees and butterfly. Honey flies hover over flowers of gulmohar tree. Pollen with nectar is also derived from the flowers of gulmohar tree. Pollen from flowers is mainly caused by birds. Within a week of the first flowering on gulmohar with branches standing on dry hard land, the entire tree is filled with flowers like dark red coals. The flowers of gulmohar trees are also orange, yellow in addition to red.

Gulmohar tree history

Its history in India is about 2 (Two) hundred years old. In Sanskrit, its name is 'Raj-Ibhaan', which means a tree decorated with majestic jewellery. The crown of the statue of Shri Krishna God is made with the flowers of Gulmohar tree. So, in Sanskrit, this tree is also called ' Krishna Chud '. Apart from India, the tree is found in Uganda, Nigeria, Australia, Mexico, Sri lanka and florida and Brazil in the United States. Nowadays its trees can also be seen in Europe. This tree was developed from Madagascar but now it is in a state of extinction; Therefore, its native species has now been included in the list of protected trees in the world.As we know that Gulmohar tree's flowers are good sources of nectar. The blooming season of Gulmohar flowers varies from country to country. In southern Florida it blooms in the June season then in Caribbean countries between May and September. In India and the Middle East, it gives flowers between April-June. The bloom season in Australia is December to February, when it gets enough heat. On the northern Maryana island it blooms between March and June.
